Alexanderstone is set in a peaceful position on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, just three miles outside Brecon, in easy reach of Llangorse Lake and on the Taff Cycle Trail. The properties have spendid views of the Beacons, wonderful walks, gardens and a field for children to play in. Ancient woodland and sites of special scientific interest can be found nearby and there are many other activites to be enjoyed in the area. The local pub, which has a large dining area and caters for children, is situated 1.5 miles away in the village of Groesfford. All properties are located just a few miles from the Welsh book town of Hay-on-Wye.

Alexanderstone is set within a designated protected wildlife area making this is a wildlife enthusiast’s dream.

Brecon Bunkhouse, Powys

Our spacious modern bunkhouse accommodates up to 28 in clean, modern bunk-rooms. Rooms vary from 2 bunks to 10, offering flexibility for your party. The bunkhouse also has a well-equipped kitchen with a catering stove, a spacious dining room to seat your entire group in one sitting, and a large separate lounge with comfortable sofas and a wood-burning stove (logs included). There’s also a boot room, storage and cleaning facilities for bikes or canoes next to the bunkhouse, and a farmhouse B&B and camping area should you require any extra sleeping room.

The 40-acre hill farm stands in an exceptionally private location, with direct access to the Brecon Beacons National Park behind the house, its own stretch of river for paddling in, and acres of woods. Castle Farm consists of a lovely old farmhouse sleeping 10, a separate cottage for seven and a studio barn which has bunk beds for up to ten.

Gilfach Wen Barn, Carmarthenshire,

Gilfach Wen Barn – Brechfa, has been converted to provide competitively priced self-catering holiday accommodation for individuals, extended families or groups on a working farm adjacent to Brechfa Forest in Carmarthenshire, South West Wales. Brechfa Forest is on the western edge of the Brecon Beacons national park and is within the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains. We are just 25 mins drive from the M4 and are only 40 minutes from Swansea, 1 hour 15 minutes from Cardiff or just over 2 hours from Bristol. Brechfa Forest was origionally a royal hunting forest in the 6th century, but is now managed by the Forestry Commision. Brechfa Forest is the largest man made forest in Europe providing circular walks and world famous mountain bike trails as well as 18,000 acres of off road riding for equestrians. This part of Carmarthenshire is also famous for its fishing.

 The newly converted barn sleeps upto 32 people between 7 bedrooms plus a large kitchen/dining room, lounge and drying room. There is a downstairs bedroom and shower for disabled visitors. The facilities are purpose designed to be walker, cyclist and equestrian friendly as well as proving a relaxing space for those who just want to spend time with family and friends.

BLUE BROOK – RED RIDGE and GREEN GALLOP are located in a stunning 100 acre farm in a secluded valley, set in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park – South Wales, in beautiful, spectacular countryside. Approx one hour drive from Severn bridge

 The area has abundant wildlife including otters, buzzards and red kites nesting nearby. There is a fantastic gorge only 12 minutes drive away for a really exciting gorge walk as well as numerous walks from the farm, including the picturesque Crai reservoir with Brown Trout fly fishing, the Geo Park area with its glacial lakes, the large Cnewr Estate, forestry and high commons, waterfalls and the Sarn Helen Roman Road popular with mountain bikers.

Brecon is 14 miles away, whilst the sandy beaches of the Gower Peninsula are a 45 minute drive. The owners have an extensive knowledge of the local area for those on foot, bicycle or horseback, they also speak Dutch, French and German. The stables are situated close to the cottages, ideal for horse lovers, with stabling available. The Crai river (SSSI) runs alongside the back of the cottages and the large outdoor sitting BBQ area. There are fabulous views over the green rolling hills and river from the kitchen and bedroom window.

Q. WHAT IS GROUP ACCOMMODATION.

A. Various types of buildings will qualify as group accommodation, it is basically the ability to accommodate a large number of people often in a self catering capacity. The sleeping arrangements could be single beds, double beds or bunk beds.

Q. WHAT IS BUNKHOUSE ACCOMMODATION.

A. A bunkhouse is a building that will usually sleep a large number of people in bunk beds. The accommodation can be basic but will always be clean and well maintained.  Many can be booked for sole use and most will allow a smaller group to book the accommodation but you could be sharing with other people.

Q. WHAT DOES SELF CATERING ACCOMMODATION PROVIDE.

A. Self catering accommodation will always have a well equipped kitchen capable of catering for the maximum number of occupants.  There will also be fridges and often freezers to take all the food that a large group would bring.
